SOLDIER ENHANCEMENT DAY

On Sunday September 23rd the Bureau of Labor and Industries hosted a Soldier Enhancement day at the Medford Armory for veterans and National Guardsmen returning from active duty overseas. Nearly 650 young men and women, from around the state, were bussed into Medford to attend the affair which brought together over 50 businesses seeking employees.

Will Maassen of Pacific Electrical Contractors and Ben Hobbs of Valley Electrical Contractors, both veterans recently indentured into our program, assisted the Training Director at our booth. It was one of the most successful recruitment fairs that we have ever attended, and it was the participation of these two young men that made the overwhelming difference. We spoke with dozens of young men and women, and gave applications to 12 who were interested in the electrical industry.
