Notice of Apprenticeship Opportunity

                                   INSIDE WIREMAN APPRENTICE

            LIMITED RESIDENTIAL APPRENTICE

                                               LIMITED ENERGY TECHNICIAN A

                               Every  Wednesday  1:00PM  to 5:00PM

                                                                                      

 Completed applications must be returned within 45 days.

NOTE: A nonrefundable application fee of $25 will be charged.

Individuals with incomes below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines may apply for a fee waiver.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.   AGE: Must be at least eighteen [18] years old.

2.   Education: Must be a high school graduate or have a GED, or, in lieu of a high school diploma or a GED, have a two year Associate Degree or higher. Must provide an OFFICIAL transcript for high school [year or years completed] and post high school training. All GED records must be submitted if applicable.

3.  Minimum math: Must have completed one full year of high school algebra with a passing grade of “C” or better or one post high school algebra course [equivalent to one year of high school algebra] with a passing grade of “C” or better. Placement test for Math 65 or better.

4.     Must obtain a qualifying score on the electrical trade’s aptitude test developed and validated by the American Institutes for Research.

GEOGRAPHICAL AREA: JACKSON, JOSEPHINE, KLAMATH, LAKE, HARNEY,  DOUGLAS COUNTY East of the Costal Watershed Divide Area and Siskiyou and Modoc counties in California.

The recruitment, selection, employment and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship shall be without discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex or age-except the applicant must be at least 17 years of age to apply and 18 years of age at time of indenture. The JATC does not, and will not, discriminate against a qualified individual with a disability because of the disability of such individual. The sponsor will take affirmative action to provide equal opportunity in apprenticeship and will operate the apprenticeship program as required under applicable law and lawful regulations issued hereunder.

Applicants who meet all basic requirements will be interviewed by the JATC. Apprentices will be selected in order of their final ranking as jobs become available.

Inside Wireman/ 5 year program:

Selected apprentices learn their skills through a combination of classroom training and on the job training covering:

Apprentices earn wages at a percentage of journeyman scale throughout their training. They also receive a Health and Welfare and Pension benefit through the IBEW/NECA plans. Upon completion of the required hours they are recommended to the State of Oregon for the General Journeyman License Exam.  

Limited Residential/2 year program:                                  

 Apprentices learn their skills through a combination of classroom training and on the job training in the following areas:

Apprentices earn wages at a percentage of journeyman scale throughout their training. They also receive Health and Welfare and Pension benefits through the IBEW/NECA plans. Upon completion of the required hours, apprentices are recommended to the State of Oregon for the Limited Residential License Exam.

Limited Energy Technician Class A: 3 year program

 Apprentices learn their skills through a combination of classroom training and on the job training in the following areas:

Apprentices earn wages at a percentage of journeyman scale throughout their training. They also receive Health and Welfare and Pension benefits through the IBEW/NECA plans. Upon completion of the required hours, apprentices are recommended to the State of Oregon for the Limited Energy Technician Class A License Exam.
